Hello,

I am Art Krummel, Art the Artist.

More than 50 years ago, I saw an oil painting hanging at a friend’s house. It had been  painted by my friend’s dad, and I was amazed that a person could create such a beautiful piece of work.

That sparked the first ember in a fire that has grown and has been raging ever since. It is a fire that took me to a newspaper art department and allowed me to illustrate stories for 40 years.

During that time, I continued to paint at home for family and local art shows. 

Through years of study -- I have a bachelor in fine arts degree from the University of Akron and have done post-grade work at other schools, workshops and seminars -- I have tried to develop a painting ability that I could be proud to demonstrate and display. That quest continues and will until I paint my last brushstroke.

Today I am able to paint every day, feeding the fire that started a half century ago. Each painting is an exciting new adventure in landscape or still-life, figurative or abstract expressionism. 

This website allows me to display some of the results of these adventures. I have enjoyed every one and I hope you find some pleasure in viewing my paintings.

I currently live with my wife in Northeast Ohio with a home in the woods,  2 grown children, a son-in-law and one sweet grandchild.

Every day I wake up excited about a new day of painting. It’s almost like Christmas morning again and again.
